Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” Dominates The 2023 MTV  VMAs With Multiple Wins

Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” music video takes home the top honor at the 2023 MTV VMAs.

For the music video for “Anti-Hero,” Taylor Swift takes home the top MTV VMA award. The night’s highlights include surprises and performances.

On September 12, 2023, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards were held. Taylor Swift was presented with the Best Pop award. 

After a night of surprises, Taylor Swift took home the top prize at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards for her “Anti-Hero” music video. It’s incredible, the American singer said in her acceptance speech, “It means so much to me. 

Swift was almost entirely in charge of the performance, which took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Swift received the Best Pop Video award from NSYNC, the evening’s opening presenters, according to PTI. 

Swift was joined on stage by Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and others. Like at the superstar’s concerts, Bass gave her a friendship bracelet. She remarked to the group, “You’re pop personified.

The night’s top nominee later returned to the stage to accept the Song of the Year trophy for “Anti-Hero” as well as the Best Direction trophy.

In a category with only female nominees for the first time in VMA history, Taylor Swift won nine out of the 11 awards she was nominated for, including Artist of the Year, according to PTI.

The power of music worldwide was the VMAs’ main theme. The glossy retro-pop song “Back for More,” a collaboration between Brazilian superstar Anitta and K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together, debuted.

The stage saw performances of “S-Class” by Stray Kids, “Lady Gaga” by local Mexican star Peso Pluma, and “Oki Doki” and “Ta OK (remix)” by reggaeton pioneer Karol G.

In the inaugural year for the category, comedian Tiffany Haddish gave Rema and Selena Gomez the “Best Afrobeats” award for their huge hit “Calm Down.”

“Africa inside the house!” Rema began his thank-you speech. Afrobeats was first introduced by Fela (Kuti), so shout out to him!As reported by PTI, “and I want to give a big shout out to the next generation of Afrobeats.” 

The MTV Video Music Awards concluded their celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary with a star-studded finale performance. Doug E. Fresh and Slick followed “The Message,” which was the opening track for Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. “The Show” by Rick. An upbeat celebration of a multigenerational culture was concluded by Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, LL Cool J, and DMC from Run-DMC.
